Social media, web design & marketing · Handmade dog accessories
Where it started
I was 18, studying film and media, and helping my aunt sell handmade dog coats and collars for some extra summer money. I didn't plan for it to go anywhere. But somewhere between building her website, writing captions, designing graphics, and figuring out why some posts performed and others didn't, I found something I actually loved. This is where it all started.
What I did
I built and managed the social media presence from scratch, content graphics, community posts, product launches, and market stall coverage. I ran A/B testing to figure out what actually resonated with a dog-obsessed audience (turns out: dogs, personality, and a good Friday pun), and doubled both followers and link clicks as a result.
Alongside the social work, I designed and maintained the website with my cousin, set up email marketing, managed online reviews, and built a referral programme. I also tracked analytics and reported on what was working, which, at 18, felt like a very serious thing to be doing.
Why include it in my portfolio?
Every person who's good at something started somewhere. This was mine. The tools have changed, the clients have got bigger, and the rates have (thankfully) improved, but the curiosity that drove me to test, iterate, and care about whether it worked? That hasn't.
